Risk Management can be undertaken only by understanding the trees and their value to people in the context within which they grow. The requirement under health and safety legislation is to have a suitable and sufficient risk assessment, and to apply measures that are reasonable and practicable.

Case Study
Galbraith were approached about carrying out tree safety surveys across a mixed rural estate due to concerns over public liability. Like many estates, trees dating back to the 1800’s line many of the tracks and paths running through the property. The estate is well used by the public with a number of core paths and a large proportion of trees adjacent to the main road. Due to the range of rich environmental and cultural benefits trees provide, we believe in retaining these trees where possible and only felling where necessary. Through detailed surveys following best practice and appropriate monitoring, we are able to do this while ensuring public safety.
