07899 877 740Due to the scope of the works the project was divided into four phases to enable unimpeded occupation of the lodge between each phase. The complex combination of pitched and flat roof sections, gablets and several chimney stacks required a number of design considerations, with upgrades incorporated at each phase. These were undertaken to improve upon the existing detailing for greater weather resistance and to ease maintenance.
The final phase included the replacement of a large expanse of flat copper roof covering with lead sheet. Design changes were made to allow the installation of a vented insulated roof deck. Due to the size of the area and maximum bay lengths, seven steps were formed to create the required fall, a large cupola was replaced and three flanking pitched roofs upgraded to introduce ventilation and re-slated with salvaged slated.
