The Assessment of Professional Competence is a programme of practical experience and continuing professional development which, when combined with academic qualifications, leads to full RICS membership as a chartered surveyor. The qualification marks the culmination of a period of extensive training and education provided by Galbraith, and a huge amount of hard work by the candidates.

 

The six staff are: Calum Chalmers, Jack Marshall and Andrew Sanderson, in the Perth office, Katie Marr in Castle Douglas,  Rachel Urquhart based in Inverness and Edward Fletcher based in the firm’s head office in Edinburgh. All six are now rural chartered surveyors.

 

Katie Marr said: “It’s a huge relief to have reached this milestone and we are all delighted to have qualified as surveyors at the first time of asking. The support that we have had from Galbraith to develop our careers has been excellent and the knowledge and expertise within the firm is phenomenal. All the graduates have worked extremely hard over the last two years to achieve this qualification. I look forward to working with rural businesses throughout Dumfries & Galloway. ”

The Galbraith rural division is one of the largest in Scotland, encompassing rural business and land management, valuations, sales and purchases, planning and development advice, telecoms, utilities, compulsory purchase and compensation issues, land mapping and GIS services, access rights, agriculture and advice on contract farming and tenancy agreements, for landholdings of over 3.5 million acres.
