Tim Kirkwood, Chief Executive said:
"We have continued to enjoy growth across our various business streams, particularly in the commercial and building surveying sectors.
Our building surveying service continues to grow rapidly, having more than doubled turnover in the last seven years. Peter joined the firm in 2010 and after rapid promotion to Senior Associate, joins the partnership as the youngest Partner.
Having started his career in London, he returned home to Scotland where he originates from the Borders. Currently he is working across the UK in both the commercial and rural sectors of the firm.
We manage in excess of 450 million of commercial property across the UK with around 750 tenants in more than 120 properties, ranging from single units to large multi-let environments such as shopping centres. The wide range of services our commercial team provides, underpinned by a commitment to personal service, is proving to be a very sound platform for success. A commercial approach to the building surveying requirements of our rural management clients is also a potent mix.
We are very proud of our long-standing reputation in the rural sector and we manage and provide advice on farm, forestry, land and estate interests totalling some three million acres. We are very pleased to be announcing new promotions within the rural department which strengthen the firm. We have grown a strong energy business providing valuable advice to clients with an interest in a wide range of developments together with providing supporting services to major utilities. Occupational issues, valuation and re-instatement risk are requiring increasing attention as renewable developments mature."
The firm also bids a fond farewell to Edward Holt who retired as a partner on the 31st March from the firm's commercial management department. Tim continued: "We wish Edward a rich, varied and relaxed retirement and thank him for the outstanding contribution he has made to CKD Galbraith over the years."
