One key option under PSF is a £500 grant, to be put towards the cost of preparing and submitting a carbon audit alongside professional recommendations outlining how best to reduce fossil fuel emissions or increase carbon capture on your holding.

This review must be carried out by an adviser accredited by the Farm Business Advisory Service Scotland, such as Martin Rennie who is based in Galbraith’s Perth office. A further benefit of this opportunity is that holders of better quality agricultural (‘Region 1’) land will be entitled to grant-funded soil sampling once they have submitted their carbon audit report.

You may find it to be a useful exercise to understand your business’ current carbon baseline and the opportunities that are available on your holding. Future agricultural support will be focused on the development of farm and landscape scale biodiversity, carbon capture and mitigation and the enhancement of regenerative agriculture.
