The organisation’s team excellently conveyed the work that went into providing a unique STEM experience – science, technology, engineering and maths – to audiences of various age groups.

One example of innovative outreach that Edinburgh Science is undertaking is the development of ‘curiosity boxes’ filled with STEM related activities that are sent to schools across Scotland. The boxes were initially sent in 2019 with great success, allowing educators to easily utilise the teaching plans contained within the boxes to create engaging experiences for students.

Also on display at the sneak peek were experiments that brought back the feeling of excitement a lot of us had growing up when we interacted with similar demonstrations.

Additionally, the event provided an excellent opportunity to meet professionals across a broad range of sectors who have the common goal of advancing our understanding of the world around us.

It was a fulfilling experience for me. As Galbraith’s new Natural Capital graduate, I’m working closely with the rural department to unlock natural capital-based opportunities.
